SKIS PLEASE!

I am a homegrown Albertan and never tire of this landscape. I've always wanted to share and work in the outdoor industry. When I'm not in the wilderness guiding, I actually look forward to going into the office. I love what I do. Whether it is teaching history, skiing, hiking with guests or booking future trips, I realize I have it right. If only my dog could come on every trip! Did I mention I love skiing!? I am a Mount Royal University graduate with a BA Ecotourism and outdoor leadership.

ADDICTED TO SNOW!

Growing up and recreating in the Pacific NorthWest and the Canadian Rockies built the foundations for my love of the wilderness. These remote and mysterious areas are where I love to learn, explore, and push myself. From backpacking in the summer, to exploring un-touched zones on my snowmobile in the winter, I embrace the backcountry regardless of the season. Throughout my Ecotourism degree, my passions led me down the road of Snow science and snowpack understanding. As an Operations Level 1 Avalanche Technician, I love to share my knowledge of the snowpack. Teaching our participants about snow's purpose, its power, and complexities is one of my favourite parts of guiding! On top of this, guiding gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and favourite places in the Canadian Rockies, while also being able to learn from each and every person in my group. No matter what trip we are on, we will always create lifelong memories, friendships and relationships with the outdoors.

OUR GEOLOGIST EXPERT!

As an Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership graduate, I want to share my passion for outdoor education and interpretation with all age groups. I am experienced and strive to facilitate fun, immersive and safe programs. I love exploring new places and sharing my favourites with our guests. I never tire of taking pictures of glaciers and wildflowers. I wouldn't necessarily call myself a geology expert, but I love it! I'm known to laugh at my own jokes because somebody has to.

THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE SHE'D RATHER BE!

I am happiest outside doing anything. Although hiking and biking are high on my fun list, so why not put them together? Hike-a-Bike – The act of taking one’s bike for a walk. It usually confirms I’m on a ridiculously adventurous route if I can’t ride the bike, which probably means, it’s the exact place I want to be. If for some crazy reason I’m not playing in the wilderness, then I read travel memoirs or immerse myself in pages of memories while I document past trips. I am an author and a voracious reader able to spend entire days in a coffee shop, tucked in a corner with my journals, maps, books and an unlimited supply of coffee.

Cheers to experiential learning and being outside!

I was born and raised in Calgary and I'm proud of it! I truly believe that the Canadian Rockies host some of the most beautiful places on Earth. I grew up snowboarding and competing in halfpipe. Eventually, I became a coach where I fell in love with teaching and outdoor leadership. I have an Applied Bachelor's Degree in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership from Mount Royal University. In the summers I work in the arboriculture industry as a climbing arborist specializing in technical urban tree removals and pruning. When I'm not working you can find me playing drums, biking or splitboarding! I am currently working towards becoming a certified ACMG splitboard guide.
I love being outside, especially guiding for COA, because it allows me moments to connect with nature. I love guiding because it gives me the opportunity to share the joy of the mountains with people who otherwise may not find it right away. Cheers to experiential learning and being outside!

A Lover of (Almost) all Seasons!

I consider myself to be more of a summer gal, preferring to spend my days hiking, scrambling, and climbing in the sun. Some of my fondest memories are of camping with family and my many years working at summer camp. However, being a born and raised Calgarian I have come to terms with the fact that winter takes up most of the year and have found ways to love it as much as summer (almost). Snowshoeing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and winter hiking are some favourites. However, I am just as happy to enjoy the beauty of winter from a warmer vantage point, such as next to a fire in a cozy blanket.

Get me outside!

I love nature, the outdoors and people, and I love finding ways to bring everyone together! I'm a creative writer, illustrator and professional musician. When I'm not designing, writing songs or playing music around Calgary, I'm out biking and swimming in the summers and skiing in the winters!
